A Guide to Navigating the Microsoft Defender Family for Azure Developers
Microsoft offers comprehensive threat prevention, detection, and response capabilities, the Microsoft Defender family. Some of these products, especially their very similar names, have confused me in the past when dealing with them. In this post, I’d like to describe these products concisely and share some resources from Microsoft to help you better understand these Defenders!
Microsoft Defender for Cloud
Secure your Azure, onpremises, and multicloud (Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform) workloads.
Its name might cause you to confuse it with “Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps”, which is part of Microsoft 365 Defender.
The Defender plans of Microsoft Defender for Cloud offer comprehensive defenses for the compute, data, and service layers of your cloud environment, such as:
